White-whiskered Puffbird, Malacoptila panamensis
Puffbirds are hook-billed nonpasserines that live in humid forests, and feed on large
insects and small vertebrates such as lizards. This is the only representative of the family
that I was able to photograph in my day-and-a-half in its rainforest habitat at Milpe.
