Russet-backed Oropendula, Psarocolius angustifrons
|
|
![]() Oropendulas are very large members of the icterid family, and so relatives of blackbirds, orioles, and meadowlarks. The Russet-backed is the only oropendula found on the slopes of the Andes -- others inhabit the tropical lowlands. This one flew in to eat the bananas placed at the San Jorge Tandayapa feeding stations. |
