Wilson's Storm-Petrel, Oceanites oceanicus
I've yet to have a Storm-Petrel give up a good photo to me, but Wilson's are
a little easier than our most common locals, Ashy and Black. The contrast of
white rump against black body gives the camera's autofocus something to grab
onto, and these birds are a little less skittish than their cousins. I got these images
the very first time I saw birds of this species, and I look forward to doing
better some day.
