Red-throated Pipit, Anthus cervinus
|
|
![]() Red-throated Pipits breed in northern Asia, and are rare but regular winter visitors to the Pacific Coast of the U.S. This one looks not that much different from its close relative the American Pipit, but its call distinguished it. Adult male Red-throated do have a bright rufous throat and head that clearly distinguish them; this was probably a first winter bird. |
