Pacific Wren, Troglodytes pacificus

Pacific Wren
The Pacific Wren is "a small, brown, cryptically-colored wren that generally inhabits dark, moist coniferous forests in western North America" (BNA). It has only recently been recognized as a separate species, having formerly been considered a western variant of the Winter Wren. More often heard than seen, and when seen usually only glimpsed in the shade of old growth forests, it has been a challenging bird to photograph for me. Note its distinctive color, a rufous brown distinguishable from the typical brown of House and Bewick's Wren.
