Mottled Duck, Anas fulvigula

Mottled Ducks
This species, found along the Gulf and southern Atlantic coasts of the US, is like the American Black Duck in that both sexes roughly resemble the female Mallard; they differ in having somewhat warmer brown chevrons in the body feathers, and unstriped buff rather than lightly striped colder gray on the throat and head. As with the Mallard, the male's bill is solid yellow while the females is orange and black.
