Masked Tityra, Tityra semifasciata

I managed this very distant shot of a handsome male Masked Tityra on the grounds of Bosque del Cabo after the bird was pointed out by Carlos Leiton, the staff naturalist. These birds were formerly classified as cotingas and then as flycatchers; currently most authorities place them in their own family, Tityridae, which they share with the becards. |
