Kentucky Warbler, Geothlypis formosa

Kentucky Warbler
The first Kentucky Warbler I saw was this beauty, who landed right in front of me as I was sitting in the photographers' blind at Boy Scout Woods at High Island. Very few difficult warblers have ever given me a good photo-op that easily!

Kentucky Warbler
This one was more like the typical bird of the species -- he skulked in the
underbrush and would not come out, though we spent a goodly while trying
to lure him. This partial view was the best I could get on my last day
photographing on the edge of Appalachia in southeastern Ohio in April 2015.
