![]() This bird was singing his famous song, "Jose Maria," from the top of a tall pine in Rose Canyon at about 7000 feet elevation on Mount Lemmon, where I had heard the song the year before, but never seen any of the birds that sang it. I played "Jose Maria" back to him, and he flew down and perched low enough for me finally to get a picture of this elusive species. |
