![]() The Great Kiskadee, a noisy and aggressive flycather, is one of several bird species regularly seen in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and nowhere else in the United States. Males and females are generally similar, and can't be told apart visually in their normal appearance, which is shown below. But while both sexes have concealed yellow crests that are erected in aggression or courtship, the crest of the male, seen above, is much larger. |
