Golden-crowned Tanager
Bird photographers usually find themselves after a shoot with quite a few images of birds facing away, the dreaded "butt-shots," which we usually discard. I've kept and posted this one, my only picture of this tanager; it is a "stunningly beautiful" bird, so say the leading authorities on Ecuadorian birds, and even its butt is pretty darned good-looking.
