Emperor Goose, Chen canagica
|
|
![]() The strikingly plumaged Emperor Goose is mostly found in coastal Alaska and across the Bering Straits in eastern Siberia; it is an irregular winter visitor to the Pacific Northwest, and a very rare one, averaging about one sighting a year, in California. This bird was the first Emperor reported in heavily birded coastal San Mateo County; it spent some time during January 2017 on Sharp Park golf course in coastal Pacifica, just south of San Francisco. |
