Curve-billed Thrashers
This pair of Curve-billed Thrashers in the Rio Grande Valley show how the Texas population differs from the Arizona birds in the other photos -- shorter tails, and distinct dark spots on a lighter background on the underparts. The two groups may in the future be recognized as separate species.
