![]() This was my first photograph of a Black-throated Green, taken in April 2008 at Boy Scout Woods, High Island, Texas. The bird was backlit so that I had to overexpose to capture its colors. |

![]() This first-cycle female Black-throated Green was a rare and welcome visitor to the coast of Central California during the winter of 2016-17. I was able to photograph the bird on New Year's morning, a good start to the birding year. |
