Black-tailed Trainbearer
These are actually small hummingbirds, but the extraordinarily long and deeply forked tail of the male, above, and the shorter but still impressive one of the female, below, make them look large. Both these photos were taken with multi-flash on the patio of the San Jorge Ecolodge on the outskirts of Quito.
