Bank Swallow, Riparia riparia
|
|
![]() Bank Swallows nest colonially in burrows they dig in sandy vertical surfaces -- banks of rivers and lakes, and the sandy cliffs that back some beaches, like Cove Beach at Ano Nuevo on the central California coast, where a small group of these birds set up housekeeping in Spring 2013, giving me my first chance to photograph this species. |
